The varsity baseball team traveled to Petaluma on Tuesday and exploded for 20 runs in a 20-2 victory. The match-up featured the two teams that met up in last years NCS Semi final game which Redwood won 4-1. Highlights in the game included a 14 strikeout performance by A.J.Vanegas (2-0). The game was called after 5 innings due to a ten run rule. Vanegas had a hand in all 15 outs as he had 14 k's and one pickoff of a runner at 1st. Redwood jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first only to have St. Vincent tie the game on a homerun in their half. Redwood added two more in the third on an R.B.I. Single by Jonathan Posey (2 for 3; 6 R.B.I.) After a pitching change in the 4th Redwood exploded for 5 runs in the 4th and 11 run's in the 5th aided by St. Vincent pitcher's control problems.
